Bread, Butter & Art

It’s a working title but it signifies an exciting project between a group of artists and artisan makers at Woodend Mill Studios. We each have our own studio here at the beautiful converted textile mill and for several years have worked together on shared events and projects. We are now formalising the ambition to develop not only our own practice but what we can offer to the wider community.

Exhibition space, a large ground floor accessible space for people to use for workshops, personal development as artists, makers and to host events such as spoken word, wellness, mindfulness and joyfulness with art and creativity at the centre.

We are so excited to announce we now have a Community Interest Company registered and will formalise our statement of intent and indeed our name at the first formal meeting to get this journey started. Updates and opportunities of how to get involved will follow.

We are also going to record and share the journey on YouTube, the suggestion of 2 of the founding members; Debbie and Les Owen…this is going to be fun and perhaps a little embarrassing at time…but get the phone out!

As a designer I enjoy the time I spend developing ideas and creating beautiful things. As a human being I enjoy the time I spend developing myself.
