Diamond Awl Workshop

Jason Stocks-Young is founder and owner of  Diamond Awl Leather Workshop and JS-Y LEATHERWORKS CO and it is Jason’s studio on the edge of the Pennines, where the leather workshops take place. He started making leather goods over 10 years ago, learning from some great leather workers who share the ethos and passion of using traditional techniques, the best fixings and the finest leathers. Jason works on a variety of bespoke projects and shares his passion for his craft through teaching others and recently featured in the BBC2 TV series SAVED AND REMADE, and BBC1 SERIES MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN, a celebration and exploration of our manufacturing heritage. He is a member of The Guild of Master Craftsmen, a founding and current member of the Equity Advisory Council established to advise the Crafts Council on its an anti-racism work and related intersectional issues. He is also on the judging panel for Collect Open at Somerset House in London.

Jason was recently appointed a Board Member of the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in Manchester and was invited to take part in a panel discussion for Conversations in Creativity organised by Creative Lancashire to celebrate Black History Month.
