    Phantasmagoria CIC are creating an enchanting and engaging trail for young and old alike to follow and enjoy…Pick up your map from outside The Veg Lord…follow the clues to discover where the Mousicals are hiding with the letters to save Christmas…collect all the letters then join Phantasmagoria in their Pop=up studio Level 3 - Mill One… the magic of Phantasmagoria is come to Woodend Mill, Mossley!

    WREATH MAKING WORKSHOP

    Join florist Brenda Cockayne for a fresh wreath making workshop on Level 3 of Mill 1. Make your own wreath to take home using fresh foliage and beautiful scents such as dried fruit, spices etc…. This is available on a drop-in basis starting at 11am on each day, but you do need to book in advance as places are limited. See link below to book your place now.

    THE VEG LORD

    HATCH BAKERY

    Hatch Bakery is well known to many for their hand crafted baked goods, sandwiches, toasties, pies and specialty coffee…all served from their small ‘hatch’ on the ground floor. What you may not know is the small team make everything on site in their commercial kitchen using locally sourced quality ingredients and their own recipes. Come early as they always sell out!

    SHELLEY WOOD STUDIO - Ground Floor

    Ceramicist Shelley Wood will be on the ground floor, near The Veg Lord Farm Shop on Saturday 6th December. Shelley will be selling a range of her beautiful work, hand crafted in her Mossley studio, you may just find the perfect gift..but will you be able to give it away! Shelley also offers courses in ceramics so you may want to sign up for a course, learn some new skills and enjoy quality creative time.

    NICOLA FISHER - Ground Floor

    Nicola is an artist working predominately in ceramics and mixed media. We are thrilled Nicola will be a visiting artist joining us over the weekend. Along with Shelley you can enjoy their beautiful work by visiting them on the ground floor, just near The Veg Lord. You are going to love meeting these delightful characters!

    Alfie's Attic is a local long standing up-cycling business, We renovate and tranform preloved furniture items and give them a loving new lease of life. Bespoke items are produced to sell and also customer commissions are welcome.

    To find Alfie’s Attic, you need to go to the back of Mill 1 and turn left, walk past Cafe@woodendmill and you will see the door in. Well worth the extra steps.

    Visit Nancy in her small and perfectly formed studio where you will find a collection of mixed media framed textile pieces for sale.

    SOURCE - Mill 1 Level 2

    SOURCE is a specialist crystal and artisan gift shop with an emphasis on healing and wellness it is also the practice of Kelly Wood; a shamanic healer and medium who also offers psychic and tarrot readings by private consultation.

    ANNIE KÈKI - Mill 1 - Level 3

    The design and sewing studio will be open for the sale of jewellery and children’s clothing…perfect for the season of gifting. We will also be offering fabric bundles as we are having a big stocktake and lots needs to go. All very high quality, perfect for quilting, crafting etc…. A full program of sewing courses will be available in 2026 with a discount if you sign up over the Open Studio Weekend.

    Artist Sheila Meeks will be exhibiting new work in her studio on level 1 of Mill 1. Original artworks, prints and greeting cards will be for sale so if you are looking for something for your home or to gift you are bound to find something just right.

    SUZANNE DARKE - Mill 1 - Level 3

    We have an interesting studio space filled with eclectic items collected over many years. Original prints, framed and unframed will be on sale and I will be working in the studio on Lino carving and printing visitors are very welcome to call in and see the process.

    Hazel always has a delightful selection of hand crafted items, which you can find in her equally charming studio in Mill 1. There are always lots of beautiful gift ideas so one to visit early if you have a list of gifts for that special someone.

    SARAH HARDACRE - Mill 1 - Level 3

    Sarah Hardacre is visual artist, printmaker and cultural producer. In both her personal and public practice, Hardacre is a visual archivist and historian, immersed in trawling images in public archives to reveal hidden narratives. Her collage and print works explore the experience of women within the urban built environment and the complex relationship between female bodies, architecture and space. And her public commissions extend to co-curated performances, community driven projects and large scale installations which investigate the sociohistorical stories of place. Sarah’s work is exhibited internationally and featured in a major retrospective of 400 years of Women Artists at Sotherby’s London in 2023. Her work is held in public and private collections worldwide including the British Museum and Damien Hirst’s MurderMe collection. The open event is an opportunity to look inside Sarah’s studio, see unique works, limited edition prints, meet the artist and explore behind the scenes of her practice.

    Contemporary artist Susan Aggarwal will showcase her latest paintings.  Susan, a full time professional artist, works from her studio here at Woodend Mill .Her works are Inspiring, uplifting and express an abundance of beauty, colour  and texture . You can see this in her modern floral  pieces and dramatic emotive abstract and landscape pieces .

    Students of Susan Aggarwal will be exhibiting their recent works, include pieces created recently during classes which Susan holds regularly in her studio. The works will be exhibited on Level 3 of Mill 2, definitely worth a visit, some of the young artists have been part of our open studios over several years and it is delightful to see their work progress.

    My art doesn't portray an accurate flower or perfect waves on the sea. Instead, it's about making marks dance on the canvas and the spontaneity of the movement. I want people to feel the joy.

    GLYNIS THORPE - Mill 2 - Level 2

    Saddleworth artist Glynis will be exhibiting and selling her stunning works from her studio in Mill 2, certainly one not to miss as you travel round the mills. Her work captures landscapes from near and far, mainly in acrylic and perfect to treat yourself or for gifting. There is always a warm welcome and plenty of lively conversation so if you enjoy art and good company, this is a studio not to be missed.
