SPINDOCTOR YARNS

Hello, I'm Beth and my business is Spindoctor Yarns.  

The studio is my happy place where I enjoy dyeing, spinning, weaving, crocheting and knitting and where I relish sharing these skills with others.  After retiring from an NHS career, I consider myself so fortunate to have the time and space for crafting!

I sell a range of hand-dyed and commercial yarns, focussing mainly on British Breeds and ethically-sourced yarns which are kind to the skin and to the environment.   I am also developing a range of luxury yarns, dyed here at Woodend Mill,  both with the spectacular colours achieved with acid dyes and also the more muted tones of locally-sourced natural materials. I have a dream of sourcing fibre from local sheep and dyestuffs from the countryside nearby, spinning by hand and selling this low-carbon-footprint product to knitters and crocheters who appreciate it's provenance.  

My studio is full of light and colour, and there are lots of different textures to explore - making planning and carrying out a creative project a very mindful activity. It is a great place to meet like-minded individuals and build friendships, swapping ideas and skills in groups and at workshops: My aim is to host an inclusive, friendly space where everyone feels welcome.
